Main exchanges with Xiangyang

On October 18, 2012, a delegation from Aubervilliers, France visited Xiangyang, and Li Shuyong, the then Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Xiangyang Municipal Committee, and the then Special Advisor Bernard Vincent of the Mayor of Aubervilliers entered into a letter of intent for establishing sister city ties.

Introduction to Aubervilliers

Located at the northern edge of Paris, Aubervilliers is the fourth largest city in Seine-Saint-Denis Province, where all kinds of social group forces are gathered to drive economic development and social management of the eight cities nearby. It has a population of about 75,000.

Aubervilliers boasts convenient public transport. The Canal Saint-Denis traverses the city and divides it into two, which has the function of transport as the Seine does. The river composes the destiny of many cities and towns in northern suburbs of Paris. People of different ethnic groups work in the city and they strengthen their social groups and accept the new middle class. Accommodating 4000 businessmen and employers, the city is highly vital and united. Aubervilliers is also a sports city and its cultural facilities such as community and equestrian theaters enjoy a high reputation in France.
