Introduction to Inuyama

Inuyama, as an important city in Aichi Prefecture, an important industrial center in Japan, is located in the northwest of Aichi and the east of Nobi Plain, which covers an area of about 75 square kilometers and has a population of about 75,000. Inuyama boasts superior traffic conditions, through which Nagoya Railway and a number of expressways pass.

Inuyama is a renowned historical sightseeing city in Japan and is known as “Owari Kyoto”. With National Treasure Inuyama Castle at the center, the atmosphere of ancient industry and commerce in the 17th century remains in Inuyama. Inuyama Castle, also called Byakutei Castle and built in the second half of the 16th century, is the only castle owned by an individual in Japan, in which Osaka Castle is the oldest among existing watchtowers. Besides, there is a famous mother river called Kiso River in Inuyama; the river is one of the 100 Exquisite and Well-Conserved Waters in Japan, with myriads of rapids and terrifying spindrift scattering wherever a boat goes. Near the river, there are Meiji Mura and Field Small World of Museum of Ethnology, which accommodate buildings and other cultural heritages of the 19th century, as well as large theme parks, e.g., Japan Monkey Center, showing a strong cultural atmosphere.
