On November 16, 2025, the former mining area on the southern slope of Mount Xian in Xiangyang, Hubei Province, has been transformed into a beautiful scenic area through ecological restoration.

The Mount Xian Cliff Carving Ecological Restoration Project exemplifies Xiangyang’s commitment to the principle that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets.” It also represents an innovative exploration of a governance model characterized by “government guidance, enterprise participation, and multi-capital integration.” The project introduces an innovative integrated mechanism that combines “ecological restoration with cultural tourism development.” Through landform reshaping, soil reconstruction, vegetation restoration, and the recreation of cultural landscapes, the previously scarred mining site has been transformed into a scenic area that integrates ecological preservation with cultural enrichment.
