Xiangyang Daily (Sun Fengling, the All-media Journalist, and Wang Xing and Zhang Chen, the Correspondents)On May 27, the journalist learned from the Xiangyang Branch of the People’s Bank of China that, to enhance rural financial services, the Zaoyang Business Management Department of this branch has inaugurated Xiangyang’s first “financial supermarket” for rural revitalization in Shuanghe Village, Taiping Town, Hubei Province. This initiative marks a significant step towards achieving comprehensive coverage of the rural revitalization “financial supermarket,” addressing the “last mile” challenge of providing inclusive financial services in rural areas.

The “financial supermarket” for rural revitalization integrates essential services, including banking, securities, and insurance. By establishing financial service facilities within the community, villagers can access comprehensive “one-stop” financial services without having to leave their village.

Based on local conditions, the Zaoyang Business Management Department visited 12 townships, 3 streets, and 70 administrative villages in Zaoyang City. Utilizing reference data such as the distribution of administrative villages and population density, they developed the “Zaoyang Rural Revitalization ‘Financial Supermarket’ Development Map,” which features a service radius of 5 kilometers. Under household classifications—those with incomes below 2,000, those between 2,000 and 6,000, and those above 6,000—they plan to establish a network of 25 “financial supermarkets” tailored to these categories. This initiative aims to ensure comprehensive coverage of financial services across all 558 administrative villages in Zaoyang City. Following thorough research and evaluation, Shuanghe Village has been selected as the inaugural pilot site for the “financial supermarket.”

It has been reported that the “financial supermarket” aimed at promoting rural revitalization in Shuanghe Village is situated within the Shuanghe Village Committee. This facility is equipped with essential service amenities, including self-service terminals for farmers, passbook replenishment kiosks, and cash verification machines. It serves eight surrounding natural villages, benefiting over 10,000 farmers. On its opening day, it successfully processed over 20 deposits and withdrawals for residents.
