Xiangyang Daily (Zhang Xuefei and Liu Zihang, the All-media Journalists, and Chu Kangbing and Fan Xiaoqing, the Correspondents) On November 19, the National Calligraphy and Seal Carving Touring Exhibition, themed “Promoting All-around Rural Revitalization,” was inaugurated at the Jinzai Pastoral Scenic Area in Yushan Town, Xiangzhou, Xiangyang, Hubei Province. The seven-day nationwide cultural and artistic event will offer a high-level cultural feast to Xiangyang, contributing significantly to Xiangzhou’s cultural revitalization and its integrated development of agriculture, culture, and tourism.

With the theme “Ink Nourishing the Countryside and Revitalization Writing a New Chapter,” the event is jointly hosted by Calligraphy Newspaper, the Xiangyang Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Publicity Department of the CPC Xiangzhou District Committee. It aims to showcase, through calligraphy and seal carving, the cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and development achievements of rural areas. Additionally, it seeks to explore new pathways for empowering rural revitalization through the integration of arts, culture, and local industries.
At the event, a hundred calligraphy and seal carving works were unveiled, showcasing content that is both relatable and reflective of the vibrant new landscape of rural life in this new era. In addition to the main exhibition area, which drew crowds of visitors, the interactive experience zone was also buzzing with activity as calligraphers and local artists engaged in lively exchanges and demonstrations.

“Bringing a national-level calligraphy exhibition into rural communities embodies the fundamental aspiration of literary and artistic endeavors to serve the public and remain grounded in grassroots initiatives,” said Gui Quanbao, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and Chairman of the Xiangyang Federation of Literary and Art Circles. “This initiative not only signifies a strong endorsement of Xiangyang’s cultural foundation but also serves as a vivid demonstration of ‘utilizing the arts to enhance rural areas.’”
Why is Xiangzhou selected as the host for such a significant cultural event? In recent years, Xiangzhou has made strides in the integrated development of agriculture, culture, and tourism. Yushan Town has established the Jinzai Pastoral Scenic Area brand based on the “one center, four parks, and three cycles” framework. A series of cultural landmarks—including rural campsites, Guiyuan Villa, the Chu- and Han-Style Ceramic Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, and Linong Academy—have been developed, creating a vibrant example of how cultural industries can drive rural revitalization. This touring exhibition not only affirms Xiangzhou’s accomplishments in rural construction but also positions the district as an important demonstration window for showcasing achievements in “enhancing rural areas through artistic endeavors.”
