Message from the newspaper (all-media journalist: GONG Li, correspondents: JIANG Xiaoyan and LIU Jing) Jun. 16 – Jul. 14. AjadiTaofeek, a doctor from Oshogbo, Nigeria, a friendly city of our city, was provided with the training and learning of 4 weeks in The First Hospital in our city based on the medical cooperation project between Xiangyang and Oshogbo.

A friendly contact platform has been established between our city and Oshogbo, Nigeria, since 2016, to conduct continuous medical aid project. Oshogbo has dispatched 6 doctors of 3 batches to participate in training and learning in Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department, Radiology Department and Ultrasonic Image Department in The First Hospital in our city, with favorable learning effects, widely recognized and supported. AjadiTaofeek, a doctor of the third batch, is provided with training and learning in Ultrasonic Image Department in The First Hospital in our city at present.

Municipal Committee of Foreign Affairs cares about AjadiTaofeek in learning and living. It helps him to work hard in medical scientific research, to learn and contributes to his hometown. At the same time, it is wished that The First Hospital of the city can strengthen interaction and exchange with hospitals in the friendly city, to establish more profound international friendliness and promote construction of Sino-African medical cooperation platform, so as to promote the development of international exchange and cooperation of Xiangyang in medical and health industries.

The cooperation project between our city and Oshogbo, Nigeria, was recognized by Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and organizations in sister cities in the America. In addition, it was awarded with the “Best Innovation Award” and the “Award for Cooperation Contribution among China, America and Africa” issued by China-US Friendship Cities Conference.
