The hum of machinery reverberates throughout the factory as automated production lines run at full efficiency, with rolls of cable taking shape along the assembly line... On March 18, the reporter visited Hubei Lisheng Cable Co., Ltd. (Lisheng Cable for short), where a bustling and dynamic production scene immediately came into view.

“Currently, all production lines are operating at full capacity to ensure the on-schedule delivery of orders,” Cheng Shuang, Director of the General Management Office of Lisheng Cable, told the reporter.

As a Hubei provincial-level SRDI “Little Giant” enterprise, a sci-tech “new species” gazelle enterprise, a service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprise, a manufacturing single-product champion enterprise and a green factory, Lisheng Cable has filled the industry gaps with its self-developed and manufactured products, including flexible mineral-insulated fire-resistant cables and ceramic-polyolefin flame-retardant and fire-resistant cables.

Thanks to continuous intelligent transformation and refined management, Lisheng Cable has boasted a robust order book since the start of this year. Its core products – including the full range of extruded-insulation medium and low-voltage power cables rated at 35 kV and below, control cables, flexible mineral-insulated fire-resistant cables and specialty cables – have achieved booming production and sales. High-end products such as low-smoke, halogen-free flame-retardant cables have garnered wide market recognition for their superior quality. Applied in various fields including power supply, new energy and engineering construction, these products have become the core driver of the company’s economic benefit growth.

“Each year, we allocate 3 percent of our sales revenue to technological breakthroughs and product iteration. We have not only built high-standard R&D testing sites, inspection laboratories and pilot workshops, but also joined hands with universities such as Wuhan University of Technology and Hubei University of Arts and Science to build industry-university-research platforms, thus consolidating the solid foundation for innovation,” Cheng said.

Technological breakthroughs have brought tangible benefits: the newly developed ceramic flame-retardant and fire-resistant cable independently researched and developed by Lisheng Cable has significantly improved the electrical insulation, flame-retardant and fire-resistant performance of cables, and is expected to generate an additional annual sales revenue of RMB 30 million after its market launch. Meanwhile, products such as flexible mineral-insulated fire-resistant cables and ceramic-polyolefin flame-retardant and fire-resistant cables have been awarded 3 national patents of the PRC for their outstanding performance and environmental-friendly features.

In addition, Lisheng Cable has actively advanced its digital transformation by assigning a unique digital identity card to each cable—a QR-code traceability system. This system enables full-life-cycle quality traceability from raw materials to end use, ensuring product quality and safety and thus earning widespread market recognition.

Looking ahead to the company’s future development, Cheng is full of confidence: “This year, Lisheng Cable will continue to optimize its production capacity layout and focus on expanding into emerging sectors such as new energy and high-end equipment.
